Throughout his life and professional career Ruben has participated in and been a supporter of the Salvation Army. His childhood exposure to programs administered by the Salvation Army helped to develop his skills as a person at an early age and established a sense of discipline and responsibility that has been vital to life both on and off the field.

Ruben's success, demonstrates how a simple recreation center, after school activity or camp can positively influence a young person's life. Ruben is committed to assisting the Salvation Army and other institutions that provide similar experiences to young people.

In an effort to break through the traditional athlete supported fundraising events, Ruben was so inclined to integrate his life-long love of bikes into something greater to benefit others. To Ruben’s credit, a significant portion of the hands on work required to make the run a success is done by Ruben himself.

From a couple hundred riders in its founding year, to a few thousand riders to date, the Ruben Brown Motorcycle Run has become an increasingly popular and well attended event.
